All skills will be taught and reviewed including: serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking and digging during our Tryout Prep Sessions. We have also added a Libero & Setter specific session to those who are looking to get extra reps and refine their skills. This is a rigorous and challenging program with first-rate competition and outstanding instruction.

Shellane Ogoshi
Ogoshi spent one season as an assistant coach at her alma mater Hofstra University, where she assisted with all facets of the program.
The Hawaii native put together a standout four year career for the Pride, as evidenced by her jersey retirement in the fall of 2008. Ogoshi played in 118 matches during her career and tallied 4,597 assists and 1,660 digs. She was a two-time Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Setter of the Year (2005 and 2006) and also earned 2005 CAA Player of the Year accolades. The 2004 CAA Rookie of the Year and a CAA All-Rookie team selection, Ogoshi went on to earn All-CAA first team honors in each of her next three seasons. In addition, she was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-Region pick as a sophomore and was the CAA Championship Most Outstanding Player in 2006. At the conclusion of her career, Ogoshi's jersey was retired in 2009 and was inducted into the Hofstra Hall of Fame in 2019!
A two-time ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, Ogoshi graduated with a degree in International Business and Finance in 2007 and MBA in Finance in 2015.

2013: Played in 34 of the Pioneers 35 matches including 121 sets … tallied 296 kills, 34 assists, 24 service aces, 449 digs, and 26 blocks (3s, 23a) … totaled nine double-doubles … second on the team in kills (296), kills per set (2.45), assists (34), digs (449), and digs per set (3.71) … fifth in the ECC in total digs and sixth in digs per set … seventh in the conference in total attacks … had at least 10 kills in 11 matches … registered a season-high 20 kills against Shepherd (Sept. 21) … recorded a season-high 30 digs against Clarion (Sept. 14).
2012: ECC Second Team … played in 140 sets in 37 matches … led the team with 381 kills averaging 2.72 kills per set … was second in the conference with 554 total digs for an average of 3.96 digs per set … registered 28 assists, 40 service aces, and 57 blocks (10s, 47a) … finished the season with 18 double doubles … tallied a career-high 22 kills along with 18 digs at Franklin Pierce (Oct. 20) … scooped up a career-high 27 digs twice (vs. Caldwell Sept. 14 and at Bridgeport Oct. 9).
2011: ECC Second Team ... played in 121 sets in 32 matches … led the team with 336 kills and 38 service aces … recorded 44 assists, 313 digs and 70 blocks (14s, 56a) … registered 10 double-doubles … tallied a career-high 21 kills along with 15 digs against Merrimack (Sept. 24) … followed that up the next match with a career-high 25 digs at Adelphi (Sept. 27) … blocked seven attacks against Molloy (Oct. 13) and Concordia (Oct. 28).
2010: ECC Second Team … garnered ECC Rookie of the Week honors twice during the year … finished second on the team with 292 kills … appeared in 32 matches and 117 sets … averaged 2.50 kills per set, as well as 1.79 digs per set … led the team in total blocks with 60 (14 solo, 46 assisted) … recorded a season-high 16 kills twice during the season … accumulated 17 digs at Kutztown (Sept. 4) … put together four double-doubles during the year.
Prior to LIU Post: Played four years of varsity volleyball at Hilo High School in Hawaii … three-time Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Division Two Champions … named BIIF Division Two first team junior and senior years in volleyball … also played water polo.

2011 (Senior): Played and started in 32 matches...named AVCA First Team All-American for the third time...selected AVCA All-Region for fourth time...earned her fourth first team all-WAC selection...became the first three-time WAC Player of the Year...selected WAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player...received the Lowes Senior CLASS award presented at the NCAA Final Four...was selected Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-District...named MVP of the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational and the Verizon Volleyball Challenge...selected to the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic All-Tournament team...named MOP of the WAC Tournament...ranks fifth all-time in UH history in kills (1,760) and digs (1,233)...is just the seventh player in school history to have over 1,000 kills and digs in a career...had a career-best 23 digs to go along with 21 kills against USC in the Honolulu Regional semifinal (12/9)...recorded 21 double-doubles...had 20+ kills on six occasions...had 22 kills and 20 digs in UH's NCAA first round win over Northern Colorado...had a season high 24 kills on two occasions (at Idaho, 9/22 and vs. Fresno State, 11/22)...had 22 kills and 10 digs in a five-set win over New Mexico State (10/12)...had a season-high .417 attack percentage against Rice (9/8)...had 17 kills and 19 digs in UH's lone regular season loss to UCLA (9/4).
2010 (Junior): Named to the AVCA All-American First-Team…named to the AVCA All-West Region team for the second straight year…repeated as WAC Player of the Year...also named to all-WAC first team...started all 32 matches at outside hitter...ranks 10th in the country with 4.64 kills per set...WAC Player of the Week (Sept. 13, Oct. 18)...named the Most Outstanding Player in the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational and the Verizon Wireless Volleyball Challenge...named to the all tournament team in the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Classic...hit .516 with 19 kills vs. San Diego State (Sept. 9)...had 21 kills and 15 digs vs. Southern California (Sept. 5)...hit .338 with 32 kills vs. Michigan State (Sept. 3)...double-figure kills in 27 of 30 matches, including four 20-kill matches...11 double-doubles …earned all-WAC academic honors.
2009 (Sophomore): AVCA First Team All-American as a sophomore, after being named Third Team All-American as a freshman…named to the AVCA All-West Region Team, WAC Player of the Year and first team all-WAC...also named the Most Valuable Player of the WAC Tournament....named WAC player of the week five times, which tied for the most in a single-season by a UH player…earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors…ranked 33rd nationally in kills per set (4.23), which also led the WAC…third on the team in digs with a 2.32 average and hit .314 which ranked fifth in the WAC…had 22 kills against No. 25 Santa Clara (Aug. 29) in the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational where she was named the Most Outstanding Player…hit a career-high .625 against UT-San Antonio on Sept. 11 in the Honolulu Advertiser Volleyball Challenge where she was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament...earned her third WAC Player of the Week award after recording 21 kills at New Mexico State (Oct. 3)…had back-to-back double-doubles against New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech...named WAC Player of the Week on Nov. 2 after recording 22 kills against Fresno State (Oct. 29) and 15 kills against Nevada (Oct. 31)...recorded a career-high 32 kills against Utah State (Nov. 16)...hit .455 with 32 kills against Utah State…named Most Outstanding Player at the Stanford Regional, leading UH into the Final Four...had 32 kills in seven sets played at the Stanford Regional and added 14 total digs and six total blocks…recorded a game-high 14 kills against No. 1 Penn State in the Final Four (Dec. 17).
2008 (Freshman): Started 34 matches as an outside hitter…named to the AVCA All-America third team…earned AVCA West Region honorable-mention honors…was the WAC Freshman of the Year and a first team all-WAC player…named the Honolulu Advertiser Challenge Most Outstanding Player, becoming the first UH freshman to earn MOP honors in one of UH’s three hosted tournaments, while also being named to the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational all-tournament team…earned WAC Player of the Week honors on Sept. 22…posted first career double-double with 14 kills and 18 digs vs. UCLA (Aug. 31)…hit .369 with 21 kills and 16 digs vs. Minnesota (Sept. 4)…hit .360 with 11 kills and 12 digs vs. St. Mary’s (Sept. 11)…had 21 kills and 16 digs vs. Washington (Sept. 13)… passed her first 98 serve receptions successfully before recording a reception error vs.Pacific (Sept. 12)…hit .409 with 22 kills and 17 digs vs. Idaho (Sept. 19)…posted 18 digs and nine kills at Boise State (Nov. 6)…hit .476 with 12 kills vs. Boise State (Nov. 20)…had 13 kills and 15 digs in the NCAA second-round match at Southern California (Dec. 6)…hit .400 with 21 kills, nine digs and three blocks vs. Purdue in the NCAA Regional semifinals (Dec. 12)…academic all-WAC.
Prep: A 2008 graduate of the Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu, O‘ahu…lettered three years in volleyball and one year in track and field…named the Volleyball magazine High School National Player of the Year…named the No. 5 top senior on the prepvolleyball.com Senior Aces list…three-time state Player of the Year…three-time Gatorade state volleyball Player of the Year…also three-time all-state and all-conference honoree…led her high school to three straight state and conference championships (2005-07)…team was ranked No. 4 in the final 2007 prepvolleyball.com national high school rankings…played three years of club volleyball for ‘Imi ‘Ike…qualified for the 18-open at the Junior Olympics Volleyball Festival all three years, leading the team to a silver-medalist finish in 2008…won the state championship in the high jump during her only year of competition in track and field.
National Team: Played for the United States Youth National Team in 2005 and ’06…helped U.S. win the 2006 NORCECA Girls Youth Continental championship…earned Best Receiver award in the tournament.
